Doing what is Right In front of God – Gift of Righteousness!

Titus 2: 11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Our God is faithful throughout all generations and there is nothing lacking in him. He seeks only what is good and righteousness. Righteousness is one of God’s attribute and he never refrains from what he is. The Greek name for righteous is “Dikaios” which means observing divine laws. This title was also given to holy men and women of the Old Testament in Eastern Christianity.

Why did God allowed Righteousness

God allowed good, righteous and holy things for himself that differentiates from evil, wicked and unrighteousness. Since the creation, he has delight in good things and that is why he said his creation “good”-(Gen 1:31). The only measures by which man can ever unite with God is by being perfect in his ways and obeying him from all his might. Proverbs 21:21 says “He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.” This is why Methuselah lived a long life and Enoch walked with God. There are also other characters in Bible which speaks about how righteousness have moved the heart of a man and laid it to obedience to follow after God. Indeed this is a gift of righteousness which is poured upon believers.

There is no place for unrighteousness in God’s Kingdom

Mat 12: 18 show where Jesus received the title of being righteous in front of God. He is the perfect signature of righteousness and we ought to be like him. For whosoever received the right of righteousness, received life and faith and joy and all things (Mat 6:33). There is a difference between the righteous and unrighteous. This difference divides through a fine line where one receives acceptance and one ignorant of God’s Kingdom (2 Cor 6:14). So, it is true to speak that there is no place for the unrighteous in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Time is near when it shall arise that God will render every man according to his deeds. There will be both punishment and reward. Now, righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance if they follow after godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness (1 Tim 6:11).

Look what the Author Says:-

There’s a statement made by a famous author Bruce Ware at the Ocean City Bible Conference, 2015 which says:-  “The only hope there is of standing righteous and acceptable before God is by receiving by faith what another has done for you. All self-attainment, self-accomplishment, self-righteousness must be abandoned realizing the vanity and hopelessness of bringing to pass our own right standing before God. We must humble ourselves before a holy God, recognize our sin, acknowledge our complete inability to remove that sin. Then we must embrace what Christ has done for us, instead of us, paying the penalty of our sin in our place in order to bring to us, by faith, a credited righteousness by which God may rightly justify us as ungodly sinners. Look to Christ and Christ alone.

Another quote reflects as “Christ’s righteousness is so imputed to believers that their justification is not merely the act of a sovereign dispensing with law but the act of a judge declaring the law to be satisfied.”- Charles Hodge

Faith and Righteousness works side by side

Being satisfied is not everything; rather we also need to look at the complementary subject. Law cannot turn you completely righteous. But, you need the grace and mercy of God and let that Spirit of Holiness flow through you that will work into repentance. John 1: 17 speak of this and we ought to know how faith and righteous work side by side to follow Jesus all through our life. Life is not just to learn and have knowledge of things or gain wisdom of the world and live happily, rather it is to seek salvation, righteousness, and hope of eternal life through Christ leading a holy life.

Full proof subjection

Many people are being saved daily and others die without repenting for their sins. So, it is imperative that those who are unsaved should find favor in front of God and live after all that is planned for them under subjection of the Holy Ghost.

Finally, righteousness is indeed a blessing to us, as this speaks of being acceptable infront of the Lord and receives everything abundantly including our daily needs, wants and supplies. Let’s take this a challenge in our life and move as a full proof of doing what is good and satisfied to our loving Messiah.

God Loves You….

In Jesus Only Worthy Name. Amen!!
