Israel (Jacob) said to Joseph, “Now I am ready to die, since I have seen for myself that you are still alive.” Then Joseph said to his brothers … “I will go up & speak to Pharaoh … When Pharaoh calls you in and asks, ‘What is your occupation?’ you should answer, ‘Your servants have tended livestock from our boyhood on, just as our fathers did.’ Then you will be allowed to settle in the region of Goshen, for all shepherds are detestable to the Egyptians.”
? – Gen.46:29-34
Israel (Jacob) was comfortless for many years believing that Joseph was dead but knowing that he was alive was a great source of comfort & joy in his old age!
Joseph, in his exalted position could have compromised with the Egyptians who looked down on ‘shepherd community’ but he spoke on behalf of his people & facilitated them with all the needs. Please God and be saved!!!
Just because one Joseph in a family pleased GOD, the whole home was saved from serious calamities!
