Do Not Repay Anyone Evil for Evil, But Overcome Evil with Good

TO REMEMBER:

Joseph’s brothers then came & threw themselves down before Joseph. “We are your slaves,” they said. But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?  YOU INTENDED TO HARM ME, BUT GOD INTENDED IT FOR GOOD to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you & your children.” And he reassured them & spoke kindly to them.

?– Gen. 50:15-21

TO UNDERSTAND:

Joseph’s brothers continued to be gripped on their guilt feelings. As a result, they lived on their “negatives” & “assumptions”, doubting Joseph’s true free love …

Joseph’s understanding was fully based on GOD’s perspective! He had a positive attitude & was more focused on the “end-result”. With all humility, explaining GOD’s plan., he consoled & reassured his ‘kindness’.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Rom.12:17, 21)
