Need of the Restoration of Spiritual Gifts

When I read the biography of great men of God of this century like Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran of how millions of people all over the world experienced the love, compassion and power of Jesus Christ through amazing miracles, signs and wonders by his Holy spirit anointed ministry which led many to salvation

I feel like we as believers of this local city have not been living the fullness of God’s richest blessings that he so graciously wants to bestow upon us. The reason is that we are too satisfied with our spirituality. Remember the Bible says- ” The kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power “

This is what Apostle Paul said,

” My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. “

(1 Corinthians 2:4-5)

Let us ask ourselves:-

” Do our churches emphasize upon the demonstration of the mighty acts of the Holyspirit which must accompany preaching of God’s word or are we just focussing on messages full of wisdom and knowledge?? “

We just love to be intellectual in our approach of evangelism and apologetics but neglect the supernatural deeds of God which go beyond our logic and understanding.

Where are the apostles??

Where are the prophets?? They were the foundation of the early church and Christ the chief cornerstone. We have no room for these two offices in our church which are equally important as the offices of Pastors, Teachers and Evangelists. We are preaching the gospel devoid of the manifestations of God’s power. Church growth is poor and Church discipline is out of order.

If we are not willing to seek the higher gifts for the equipping of the body of Christ, Then The Lord is not willing to restore them to us. How much more we could have accomplished had it been our desire to encourage believers to grow both in Bible doctrines as well as the manifestations of the Holyspirit.

They have not certainly ceased. There is no evidence in the Bible for that. The cessationists have formed their own doctrine that have blinded people over centuries. If we don’t accept how poor we are in the spirit and repent of our complacency we will surely miss out the end-time showers.
