Lord Rescues the Godly from Trials & Holds the Unrighteous for Judgment

TO REMEMBER:

GOD condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, & made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; & if he rescued LOT, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw & heard)—if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials & to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.

TO UNDERSTAND:

Lot was the nephew of Abraham. When GOD called out Abraham, Lot accompanied him too. Being with Abraham, he learnt Godliness & was blessed too! When Abraham gave an option of deciding a place to settle down, Lot chose Sodom which looked greener outside but was actually dark with sin inside!

Abraham’s favour & intercession often protected Lot from disasters. Lot’s wife overlooked the instruction of the protective angels & became a pillar of salt while his two daughters failed to depend on Lot’s decisions for their future!(Gen.ch12,13,14,19)

“It was the same in the days of lot. People were eating & drinking, buying & selling, planting & building. But the day lot left Sodom, fire & sulfur rained down from heaven & destroyed them all.” (Lk.17:28-29)
