Having Great Faith & Divine Dream to Worship God – Jacob’s Blessings

TO REMEMBER:

When Jesus heard this, He was amazed & said to those following Him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. I say to you that many will come from the east & the west, & will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac & JACOB in the kingdom of heaven”.

TO UNDERSTAND:

Even though Jacob was loved, protected & blessed by GOD, his life did have various challenges! He had risks in getting blessed by his father Isaac who had loved his elder brother Esau more! He had to leave the comforts of his home & run for his life when Esau wanted to kill him! He got deceived by Laban, who made him to wait for fourteen years to have his daughter Rachel married to him! (Gen. chapter 25 to 49)

Jacob, on his journey from his home had a divine dream & called that place “Bethel” (Gen.28:10-22). Similarly, on his way back he had to involve in a divine wrestling & called that place “Peniel” (Gen.32), where his name was changed from Jacob to ‘Israel’. The 12 tribes of Israel were named after the 12 descendants of Jacob.

By faith, Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons, & worshiped GOD as he leaned on the top of his staff. (Heb.11:21)
